Archery Beginners Courses
To do archery in the UK, you first need to complete a beginners course. Our beginners’ courses are led by an experienced and qualified Archery GB Licensed coach who will:
- Teach you how to safely shoot a bow and arrow
- Teach you basic techniques
- Explain range safety and etiquette
- Show you how to score and use scorecards
- Teach you how to set up and take down your equipment, and how to adjust it safely
- Introduce you to different bow types and styles
- Get you shooting competition distance by the end of the course
- And much more!
All equipment will be provided. You just need to turn up!
By the end of the course and being considered “safe”, you will receive a Beginner Certificate which you will be able to use to join Archery GB, apply to join an Archery GB registered club within the UK, and enter archery competitions if you want to!
Although these courses are suitable for adults and children (minimum age of 8), for children, a parent or guardian will need to be present at all the sessions with the child and remain for the entire session.

Completed your Beginners Course?
Once you’ve completed the Beginners’ Course and received your Certificate, you probably want to keep practicing archery and get better at it.
We can arrange Development Coaching sessions with you at mutually convenient times, but be warned….archery can be addictive!
